For Perry County nature artist, Jon Tritt, the decision to leave the business world and devote himself to being a full time painter was as easy as choosing his next subject.

Drawn to old stone houses, farms and wildlife, the versatile artist has an amazing ability to capture his subjects in great detail. His realistic creations and appreciation for nature are evident in his quality work.

 Jon grew up in New Cumberland Pennsylvania, a small town on the west shore of the Susquehanna river just south of Harrisburg. He gravitated to artwork at a young age and his elementary and secondary school art teachers, seeing his potential encouraged him. Jon complimented his natural ability with college courses in art and photography at Harrisburg Area Community College.

Jon, his wife Valerie and their faithful chocolate lab companion, Blake (above), currently live in Rye township outside of Marysville,  Here, in Jon's home studio, surrounded by gardens, a stream, and a multitude of wildlife, Jon creates.
